2020 Toyota Rav4 Specs, Hybrid, LE and Limited Grades

The Toyota Rav4 crossover is heading into a new, fifth generation. A new series of the compact model is coming late this year as the 2019 year vehicle. It leaves room and time for designers to prepare the first update – 2020 Toyota Rav4. With the new model on the way, we won’t see big changes for the first edition after the new generation arrives. Small cosmetic updates, possible limited edition and special model, and minor modifications of the hybrid system are some of the options. Since all eyes are on the 2019 Rav4, there is still no big interest in 2020 crossover. But, as soon as the new vehicle enters the market, fans will mule for missing features and systems.

The crossover is the best-selling vehicle in its family. The compact class just exploded recently and Toyota is one of the companies that use all advantages of the expansion. Well, the entire SUV and crossover industry is growing. That is why we are seeing more and more of these vehicles, new classes and subclasses. Predecessors of the 2020 Toyota Rav4 are one of the first crossovers that made a breakthrough. Now, the upcoming model and many others are enjoying the success of this kind of cars.

2020 Toyota Rav4 redesign

New 2020 Toyota Rav4 Concept

The redesign of the upcoming 2019 model will bring changes to the 2020 Toyota Rav4. Changes are not going to be big. But, the first update edition is going to make minor cosmetic and interior modifications. Besides that, no big things are on the way.

Rav4 has a new aggressive look. From what we saw in New York at Auto Show, designers had a lot of work. They crafted a futuristic crossover with a lot of updates. The new Toyota Rav4 2020 model will ride on a new platform. The company is now using a TNGA architecture for its compact vehicle. The crossover is now lower and shorter. However, the upcoming model is not losing in off-road capabilities. Contrary, the new Rav4 is even boosting the performance in difficult terrains.

Interior

A new dashboard is the highlight of the interior. The crossover is comfortable and pretty spacious for its exterior dimensions. A perfect seating layout offers five spots. There is also enough room in a storage area which could be increased by folding rear seats. At the center of the control panel is a big 7-inch touchscreen display. Higher trim levels, such as 2020 Toyota Rav4 Limited, will offer even the larger device. Entune infotainment system is going to offer Apple CarPlay services, but sadly, not the Android Auto. Toyota is trying to make it up by adding Amazon Alexa system. Under the big screen are most of command buttons and knobs, including drive mode selection and climate control. The steering wheel also holds some of them.

2020 Toyota Rav4 Engine Horsepower and Specs

Under the hood of the 2020 Toyota Rav4 is a 2.5-liter engine. That is the same unit used in the previous generation. However, engineers will tune it to deliver more power and better fuel economy at the same time. Although details are still unavailable, we believe the new Toyota Rav4 2020 model will be able to create more than 180 engine horsepower. The specs sheet gets a boost for torque output as well.

Nevertheless, the main improvement comes from a new all-wheel drive. The main part of it is the torque vectoring system. This one is not going to be available for the base crossover. Well, the front-wheel drive remains the mode for standard 2020 Toyota Rav4 LE offer.

2020 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid

Like the base crossover, the 2020 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid is also using the same setup as before. Again, the base for this kind of drivetrain is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. It pairs an electric motor that maximizes engine horsepower. The new hybrid, as its conventional sibling, is going to offer more. Extra engine horsepower will make Toyota Rav4 2020 go above 200 hp total. The most important boost is for fuel economy which will reach 35 mpg in city drive. On highways, the crossover will return the same mileage with both gasoline or hybrid versions.

2020 Toyota Rav4 Limited, LE, Adventure, HSE HV Grades Confirmed

Rav4 is currently offering 10 different setups. We can separate them for standard and hybrid drivetrains. However, trim levels are one of the advantages of the Japanese carmaker. The new 2020 Rav4 is going to be more capable for the off-road drive. However, it is not getting a TRD package, which Toyota adds to its big vehicles, such as 4Runner SUV. Instead, the 2020 Toyota Rav4 Adventure Grade will offer everything the company tried to achieve with Trail Edition. This was a special vehicle upgraded for a better off-road drive. Now, the Rav4 Adventure will be capable to deliver a joy on and off the asphalt.

But, lets start from the base model. This spot is again reserved for 2020 Toyota Rav4 LE. Besides these two, the company already unveiled some features of the Limited model. Everything is larger there – inside it is an 8-inch screen, outside 19-inch wheels. Finally, Toyota is bringing the sportiest model of all. The 2020 Toyota Rav4 HSE HV will get the special suspension tuning. If you are looking for the crossover with the most power and the best fuel economy rating, wait for HSE HV to arrive. Well, it will cost more than other Rav4 models as well.
